Error: Cannot open Service Control Manager on computer “pool.shareitskills.local”.  This operation might require other privileges.

Check and make sure that the pool name matches the Active Directory FQDN of the Lync server. On Lync Standard Edition installation, you won’t be able to publish the topology if the name doesn’t match the server name. This is a Lync Standard Edition server installation requirement, and only with Enterprise Edition can you create a separate pool name.

I followed the standard installation procedure and received the error when I published the topology as below;

ACLError: Access permissions error.

Error: Failed to save permissions on “\\win-lync2013.shareitskills.local\LyncShare$”.

We all know everyone already got full permission in share and security, anyway this is the fix as per the error messages and steps,

Enable Full Control in Share Permissions for the given groups as shows in the below image,

180513_ACL_Permission_FixDone, it fixed the issue.

1. Open active directory users and computers
2. Enable the advanced features in the view menu
3. Search for the account which is in a protected security group
4. Go to Properties / Security / Advanced
5. Check the following box: Include inheritable permissions
6. Retry what you were doing in the Lync Control Panel
